Victorias sevillana, cordobesa y malagueña en el ABS 3000 Ciudad de Casares
La cuarta prueba ABS 3.000 de la temporada andaluza de pádel concluía este domingo en las instalaciones del Casares Racket Club malagueño con sorpresas en las finales. De hecho, mientras que los máximos aspirantes en el cuadro masculino se hacían con el título costasoleño, en féminas la victoria se quedaba en la provincia por medio de las octavas preclasificadas.
En el cuadro masculino del Ciudad de Casares, competición que reunía en sus dos jornadas a más de 160 jugadores en total, el sevillano Pablo Herrera y el cordobés Javi Garrido certificaban su condición de números 1 a costa del granadino Julio Pérez Luque y el almeriense Jaime Barón Fernández, a los que superaban en la final por dos sets. Eso sí, los subcampeones plantaron batalla en un primer asalto que se decidía en el tie break (7-6), cediendo posteriormente por un claro 6-1 en el segundo y definitivo. Sin duda, pagaron el esfuerzo de las semifinales, en las que vencieron en tres sets (6-7, 7-5 y 6-2) a los también destacados Daniel Avilés y José Osete (25).
Por su parte, el astigitano Herrera, en su lucha por el liderato individual del escalafón de la Federación Andaluza, suma de esta forma su tercera victoria en pruebas ABS del curso 2016, tras las previas de Albolote (Granada) y Casino Marbella. Por su parte, el campeón mundial de menores cordobés Garrido se estrena para desquitarse de la derrota en la final de El Candado.
La sorpresa llegaba en categoría femenina, cuadro que contaba con 20 duplas inscritas y en el que se imponían la cadete local Beatriz González y la uruguaya afincada en la provincia Andreína de los Santos. Tras una primera ronda, de tanteo, con un solo juego cedido, la octava pareja aspirante del torneo, atendiendo al ránking previo, presentaba firmes credenciales al derrotar en cuartos a las máximas aspirantes, la malagueña Patricia Mowbray y la onubense Elena Ramírez, que se despedían por 3-6, 6-4 y 6-4. Ya en semifinales, dejaba en la cuneta a las número 3, la sevillana Reyes Medina y la jinenense Marta Porras, que se estrenaban como campeonas de Andalucía sub23 y caían por un apretado 6-3, 6-7 y 6-4. Ya en la final, sus víctimas eran, por 6-2 y 7-6, las segundas preclasificadas, la cordobesa Alba Izquierdo, número 1 andaluza; y la malagueña Alba Pérez, campeona mundial de menores el pasado año, de la misma forma que la propia Beatriz González.
Tanto la joven malagueña como la afincada en la Costa del Sol suman así su segundo torneo ABS del año, tras imponerse respectivamente antes en las pruebas de Casino Marbella y Matagrande.
